Senior Analytics Engineer (BI & Data Engineering)

Dataciders ROITI is an energy trading and risk management (ETRM) consultancy founded in 2013. Our expertise spans every major energy commodity — power, gas, oil, coal, freight, and emissions — and the IT solutions we build sit at the heart of our clients’ operations: asset optimization (including algo trading), data management and reporting, process improvements, and derivatives trading and risk assessment.

The role

For our growing team in Sofia, we are looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer (BI & Data Engineering). You will work with our clients to provide analysis, design, implementation, testing, and support services for their front office and risk management activities. You will report to your respective team lead and internal and external project managers/product owners related to your assigned projects.

Responsibilities

• Analyze products, processes and business needs within client organizations
• Design, build and maintain Data Warehouse and data pipeline solutions
• Create and manage data flows using ETL tools and frameworks
• Model and visualize data primarily using Power BI
• Participate in project assessment and coordinate project activities — within and across teams
• Provide training and support to colleagues and clients

Technical skills

• Hands-on experience with Databricks — required
• Experience with ETL tools — ADF, Matillion, DBT or similar
• Strong Power BI skills, including data modeling and SQL
• Familiarity with data platforms such as Snowflake, SQL Server, PostgreSQL or similar
• Experience with Python

Soft skills

• Strong communication and presentation skills — ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences
• Fluent English — written and spoken
• People management skills — ability to coordinate, mentor and distribute tasks across team members
• Attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Cooperative mindset with a trial-and-learn attitude
• Willingness to travel occasionally to client sites

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, BI development or a similar analytics-focused role
• Proven track record of delivering end-to-end data solutions — from pipeline design to reporting layer
• Experience working in client-facing or consulting environments is a strong advantage
